• How long does the Japanese Thermal Straightening Last?
  Depending upon hair type, curl, texture of hair, straightening effects usually last about 6 to 12 months on average.  Sometimes longer if the hair is not so curly at the root base of the head.  Sometimes less depending on the growth of the hair, and ethnic background.
• How long does the process take?
  It takes between 4 to 5 hours depending on the texture, length, and thickness of the hair, and if the hair has been color treated as well.
• Can this process be applied to colored or highlighted hair?
  YES!  Our Certified specialists are trained and very experienced in the application of this procedure to hair that has been Colored treated or highlighted.  We only use a special formula designed for use on chemically treated hair.
• What condition will my hair me in after the treatment?
  Imagine! Silky, Soft, Straight, Manageable, Moveable Hair.  Easy to style without the time.  You hair will take half the time to style than it did before. Imagine That!
• Can I shampoo my hair and let it dry naturally without blow drying?
  Yes! Yes you can. Depending on your personal preference, you may still need to use a flat iron for polishing and to achieve your desired look.  However it will just take 5 to 10 min, in doing so. Most clients say that it takes less than half the time to blow dry or flat iron than it did before the treatment.
• Once I have the straightening treatment procedure done, and I want to do it again in 6 months or so, will it cost the same and will it take the same amount of time?
  To repeat the process will cost the same and yes it does take the same amount of time.  Even though we put the product to process on the regrowth only, we still have to run through the hair a minute or so and repeat everything.  It still will leave your hair in beautiful condition.  Our  specially  trained and certified staff take the best of care in repeating the process, of previously treated or colored, highlighted hair.
• Can I go swimming after having my hair straightened?
  Because of the chemicals in pool water, we recommend not swimming for at least a month after the straightening procedure.  Be sure to protect your hair from sun and chlorine as much as possible.  Also, continuous use of the Home Maintenance Kit will aid in protecting your hair from the elements after swimming.  Condition, Condition, Condition your hair, please!
• Is there anything I must do at home after having the straightening treatment done?
  Yes, you do need to maintain the health of your hair.  We strongly recommend the Home Maintenance Kit.  The Kit contains, Conditioning Shampoo, Conditioning treatment, Protein spray, and a crystal clear type of  Infusion.  Very important to follow the Home Maintenance instructions after you have this treatment done, this will keep youy hair lusturous and frizz free.
• When do I come in for a Regrowth touch up and how much is the cost?
  The touch ups vary on the person. A touch up is considered at 6 months or even 12 months after the treatment has been performed, and that's on very curly frizzy unruly hair.  The cost is the same price,  that is considered a full straightening.  We can tell how long it has been on most heads of hair. Most people do not come back for 6 months or longer.  It is considered a full straightening because it can take even longer the second time around becasue of the care we give to the hair and time factor is the same or longer.  The cost is the same price as when you first had it done. It's been 6 months or over that.  It takes 4 hours or longer of labor again to perform anything after 4 to 6 months, so it's a full straightening.

• What is the Brazilian Keratin treatment?
  The Brazilian Keratin Treatment is a formula that is a Liquid for of hair that gently blends keratin proteins into the hair.  It brings to hair what is lacking to begin with, and has lost over the years and broken down with hair color, highlights and or other chemical treatments.  It is a restorative treatment to the hair, repairing the quality of the hair from the inside out. The added Strength, Elasticity, and moisture result in a smooth, soft shiny complex. Further damage to the hair shaft is prevented. It's a reconstructor for hair.
• What is the Brazilian Chocolate Treatment?
  The Brazilian Chocolate Treatment is an advanced formula that treats damaged, Dry, Dull, Chemically treated hair. The  ChocoBKT has high quality ingredients like Keratin, Chocolate Amino Acids, for all kinds of hair types.  This treatment leaves the hair soft, shiny, frizz free, and is stronger than the regular BKT.
• Can you do a Brazilian Keratin Treatment on Relaxed, or Color treated hair, Highlighted hair, or chemically damaged hair?
  Yes, you can—on all hair types. This is a highly condition treatment, not a chemical treatment. This treatment is not chemical, it is conditioning.
• What about the Formaldehyde in the treatment is it Safe?
  Yes, it is safe. Our treatment with Formaldehyde is a 2% which is regulated by the FDA, we would not jeopardize ourselves if it was not safe doing these treatments all the time. We offer the BKT with Formaldehyde and the Formaldehyde free formulas.  This treatment is safe or we would not perform it. I do care about myself and I perform them at least 5 to 12 times a week.  We also do carry formaldehyde free formula, if you are concerned in any way about not using formaldehyde.
• What does the Formaldehyde do and why is it in the BKT?
  The Formaldehyde helps to straighten and or relax the hair.  It plays a big part in delivering the molecules to there place inside the hair and making the treatment more permanent, and also preserves the formula.
• What's the difference in using the treatment with Formaldehyde and the Formaldehyde Free one?
  The treatment with Formaldehyde Free has keratin content in it that helps smooth the hair more and lasting quality. The Formaldehyde free one does not straighten the hair 100% it just defrizzes and relax's the curl leaving the hair shiny, soft, highly conditioned, however takes the same amount of time to perform and cost, and equally is as nice, it just doesn't have any formaldehyde for those who are concerned.
• Is this treatment permanent?
  We call this BKT (Brazilian Keratin Treatment) our Semi Permanent Keratin straightening treatment. A highly conditioning treatment. There are different kinds to offer. Right now we offer the Regular Brazilian keratin treatment and the Chocolate Brazilian treatment, formaldehyde free Keratin treatment. Semi Permanent means that this treatment leaves the hair without a trace of a line of demarcation. So, there is no line between your new hairs growing out of the roots to the hair that has been treated with the BKT. When the treatment is out there is no start to stopping point on the outgrow of your hair.
• What will this treatment do to my hair?
  Depending on the amount of curl or wave, it will De-frizz, leave the hair Soft and Shiny, Smooth the hair. Repair and Restore the hair. On some instances it will straighten completely, and on some it will just relax the curl and or waves in the hair. It will take less than half the time to style your hair.
• How long does it take to perform the treatment?
  Depending on the amount of hair and length and curl or wave, 2 to 4 hours.
• How long will the Brazilian Keratin Treatment last?
  It can last between 2 to 4 months every one is different people and hair, depending on the individual.
• How long after the Treatment do I have to wait before I can shampoo my hair and care for it?
  You must wait 3 to 4 days before you can shampoo. We recommend using a shampoo that is compatible with the treatment and sulfate free. During the 3 to 4 days you cannot get your hair wet.  Or tuck your hair behind the ears; do not clip; No clips or bobby pins; no pony tails; no ball caps, no sweating or swimming during the 3 to  4 days. If you get your hair wet during the 3 to 4 days, just blow-dry your hair and glide the flat iron over it to straighten the hair. Do not use mousse or gels or hairspray during the 3 to 4 days too.
• Can I get the BKT treatment if my hair is Colored or Highlighted?
  Yes, you can. The BKT is for all hair types and damaged hair. It restores the hair. You can color your hair the same day with this treatment.
• How long must I wait to color or highlight my hair after the treatment?
  We recommend waiting 2 weeks after receiving your treatment, however if you have already colored or highlighted your hair recently like the day Of or Day before you can receive the treatment that day or the next day, it's only after you receive it that you must wait 2 weeks, if you need color.
• How do I know if I'm a candidate for this treatment VS the Japanese straightening treatment?
  You must come in for a consultation with one of our trained certified stylists to have you hair evaluated to determine which treatment will best suited for you and your lifestyle and hair.
• What's the difference between the Japanese straightening treatment and the Brazilian Keratin treatments?
  The Japanese treatment is a permanent chemical straightener that lasts twice as long if not longer and can damage your hair if not cared for properly after receiving the treatment. The BKT is a Semi Permanent treatment that is highly conditioning to the hair and is not chemical based, it's keratin based. It does come out and reverts back after 4 months.
• Can I get the Japanese treatment and the brazilian treatment the same day?  Yes you can.  After performing the Japanese treatment on some people we recommend that you have both treatments done.  We offer a discounted price if having both done.
• How long will I need a touch up?
  There is no touch  up to do on a Brazilian hair keratin treatment.  It lasts only 2 to 4 months and is a gradual regrowth process.  It must be done fully again, and therefore is considered a full Brazilian Keratin hair treatment again. We offer discounts if repeated.
• Can I do a Brazilian hair Keratin treatment over damaged hair?
  Yes you can, because this is a restorative hair treatment.  It can never damage your hair.  This is not a chemical Treament.  This is a pure Hair keratin treament that gives you the benefit of Shiny, glossy, frizz free, strenghtened restored hair, with some benefits of straightening. and conditioning at the same time, and this can be done over the Japanese straightening treatment also if it was done previously.  It will restore the hair. It can be done on any hair at any time, even back to back treatments.
• Can I undo the Brazilian hair keratin treatment with haircolor?
  Yes you can.  Store bought haircolor or haircolor bleaching, highlights or any kind of haircolor that is not approved by a professional can undo this treament, before it's expired time.  Please consult your professional stylist  before coloring your hair, or your  BKT treatment may be gone.

     How Much Does this Cost?  Starting at shoulder length hair it starts at $395.00 to $450.00 depending on which kind is best for your hair.

Cancellation Policy 

• Bravo Salon has a 48 hour Cancellation Policy on the Japanese Thermal Straightening and the Brazilian Keratin Straightening Treatments.
  • If you must cancel you must do so within 48 Hours of your scheduled appointment time, otherwise we charge a $100.00 fee for canceling within the 48 hour time frame. We book out 4 to 5 hours out of our schedule to do these special treatments.  Please don't cancel.
• We have a 24 hour cancellation policy on hair color and haircut appointments.  If you must cancel please do so within the 24 hours or we charge 50% of the service fee for canceling.
